Here is a very fine 20 gauge boxlock ejector by Edwin Chamberlain of Andover and Basingstoke (Hampshire) England. It was built circa early 1900s. The nitro-proved barrels are 28" with 2 ½" chambers and excellent bores, choked .002/.021 (about skeet/improved modified.) The rib is engraved: E. CHAMBERLAIN. ANDOVER & BASINGSTOKE. The gun locks up tight, and the ejectors are strong and in time. The receiver features good border and acanthus scroll engraving. The fore-end has an Anson push-rod release. There is a small divot in the fore-end checkering (see photo # 13.) The Prince of Wales stock has nice figure, and measures 1 ½" x 2 ¼" x 14 ¾" with neutral cast. The weight is 5 lbs 9 oz. This classy little gun would be a fantastic weapon for grouse, woodcock or quail.
