This shotgun is a pre-WWII Simson boxlock hammerless. It is a great representation of a vintage German sporting gun with great attention to detail and design, cocking indicators, winged fences, sights one might expect on a rifle, rather than a shotgun, and small embelishments such as the matting on the top of the receiver. It appears to have served a sportsman well, showing wear consistent with a life in the field. The action functions correctly.
The barrels lock up with no play to the receiver.
The bores are mostly bright
This gun can return to dropping birds or would make a fine addition to a European shotgun collection.
