The Al Talbot Ultimate Return to Zero 1 piece quick detach mount system comes with a specifically designed base to fit your Remington 700 SA which allows you to choose the Talbot QD ringrail you need depending on your scope diameter. The Talbot QD ringrails come in the complete range of scope diameters available on the market today – 1 inch 30mm 34mm 35mm and 40mm. The Talbot QD Mount Ultimate system is completely unique to any other mount system sold today ensuring complete return to zero when scope is attached and reattached within seconds whether to the same rifle or a totally different gun. The Talbot QD 1 Piece mount system really has been tried and tested by a complete range of users – Guns magazine Snipers Paradise Varmint Hunter and even the US Marines Core. The Talbot Ring Rail rides on hemispheric surfaces both front and rear below the rings on the base. The rear of the base mount is spring loaded. When replaced the mount is forced back to the same location on those rounded hemispheres by the spring. An Added benefit of the Talbot ultimate QD mount system is that they do not suffer from differential expansion (sudden temperature drop which causes the cross hair to float off). The Talbot system does not have such a problem due to the stress caused by differential expansion is taken up by the spring which adjusts to the force being exerted between the reciever the mount and the scope. A technique used to test the variability of QD mount involves using a jig to hold a Picatinny rail so the scope and the mount can be zeroed on a test pattern. The Jig is securley anchored and the is then removed and then remounted a number of times. Return to exact zero is measured by the crosshair returning to the same place on the test pattern each time. This test was actually carried out by the military and the result were startling. The Talbot QD mount system returned to zero so closely it was almost impossible to measure !
