The Yukon Patrol-D 3×42 night vision device is a set consisting of the Patrol 2×24 night vision monocular and a 1.5x lens converter with a 42mm front optic that increases the magnification of the device to 3x. The Yukon Patrol models are entry level compact but fully featured Gen 1 night vision devices. The functional design is easy to use and comfortable to hold. The raised latching switches and lever for eyepiece focus/dioptre adjustment make locating the controls quick and easy even wearing gloves. With a choice of either 2.0x or 4.0x magnification standard models the Patrol-D 3×42 actually offers dual 2.0x and 3.0x magnification in the one model by attaching the 1.5x Lens Converter supplied as part of the set. All models in the Yukon Patrol range are compact and durable and feature a black soft touch sure-grip ABS plastic and rubber armoured bodyshell with focusing objective and ocular lenses and a built-in IR illuminator to enhance performance and allow use in very low light or total darkness. A micro LED indicates the operational status by illuminating green when the unit is switched on and red when both the image intensifier tube and built-in IR illuminator are activated. This feature helps to preserve battery life and also alerts the user should the device accidently be switched or left on. Powered from two AAA 1.5v Alkaline/Lithium batteries (not included) a set of batteries can give up to 72 hours of operation (without IR). A ¼” Whitworth thread is built-in to the base of each model to accept tripods and other optional accessories and all units are individually serial numbered and come supplied with a soft carry case
