This rifle is an M48A (machined trigger guard, not stamped). It is in great shape, but is not all matching – the serial number stamped on the receiver, P36865, matches the serial number stamped on the stock and the floor plate, but not the bolt handle. For this reason, I did not take the receiver/barrel out of the stock to look for the assembly number to see if it has been refurbished. As can be seen from the photos, the blued finish is largely intact, showing wear only at the exposed end of the barrel and on the bands. The bolt, receiver, follower, and floorplate look almost new. The wood is worn from use but not battered or chipped or cracked. The bore is frosted but perfectly serviceable. All of the visible parts are marked with the KB factory inspection stamp, so are not modern-day replacements. There is an import mark from Intrac Arms International of Knoxville, Tennessee electropenciled under the barrel near the muzzle: “INTRAC KNOX, TN 8mm YUGO.”
The bayonet is serialized to a different rifle and the blade looks like new. The wooden handle is in good shape but someone carved a “W” (initial?) into one side of it. The Parkerized scabbard is stamped with yet another serial number.
