Here's a really nice and very uncommon "Pre-64" Winchester Model 70 "Featherweight Westerner". It was built on the short magnum receiver and featured a 22" light contour barrel. It came factory drilled and tapped for scope mounts, had a serrated/hooded ramp front sight base, and a Lyman 16B folding leaf rear sight. The stock was of the Monte Carlo style with raised cheek piece. The Featherweight Westerner was unique among the Model 70 Featherweight rifles for being factory fitted with a Winchester recoil pad as standard.
This rifle is in excellent overall condition.
There is no indication that the wood has ever been refinished. The serial number is etched on the bolt body and properly matching to the receiver. This rifle is in excellent mechanical condition and has an excellent bright/sharp bore.
