This is a “shorty” Russian Nagant revolver, issued to NKVD commanding personnel during the days of Stalin’s terror in 1930s, and the first one we've ever had available for sale. These guns were not cut-downs of the regular M1895 revolvers, but made from scratch at the Tula factory with a shorter barrel, a shortened grip frame, a different geometry of the trigger guard and a different hammer profile. This gun has all of the above attributes and is all original and matching, retaining about 100% bluing, professionally rebluing. It is dated 1929.
