Here's a fairly early production Inland M1 Carbine that's in nice shape. This Carbine is serial number 199230 and has its original 1-43 dated barrel. Nearly all of the various components are correct for an Inland Carbine made in early 1943 including the "high wood, I-cut" stock, early 2-rivet/deep groove handguard, narrow barrel band, early Type 2 operating slide, Type 2 "dogleg" hammer, flat/blued bolt, Type 1 firing pin, Type 2 extractor, Type 2a plain face mag catch, Type 1 checkered safety with beveled edges, etc. There are NO import markings. There are no adjustable sight stake marks in the rear sight dovetail, the front sight does not appear to have been disturbed, nor is there any indication it ever had a wide band or bayonet lug installed. The original finish shows only minor wear and there is no rust or any pitting. The stock is in good condition with various handling marks as well as a repair behind the trigger guard and another on the inside of the mag well. The wood has been sanded in the past but the original large crossed cannons acceptance is faintly visible on the right side of the butt, the circled P proof is on the pistol grip, and the sling slot has the "OI" and "flaming bomb". The recoil plate is of the Type 3 style which was introduced a few months later in the war and appears to the one part which isn't technically correct. The early handguard is properly "OI" marked and does have a few scratches/gouges.
This Carbine is in perfect working order and has an excellent bright bore with a low muzzle erosion reading of about 0.7.
It comes with a good condition 15-round "IA" coded magazine, an original WWII OD C-tip sling that's in good shape, and an "II" marked oiler.
Overall, a nice early war Carbine!!
