Here's a very nice and relatively early Colt Officer's Model .38 Target revolver. This is an improved "2nd Issue" Officer's Model that was manufactured in 1913. It chambers the .38 Special cartridge and wears a 6-inch barrel with adjustable front and rear target sights. A beautifully made revolver, it features Colt's early "high polish" blue finish which was discontinued prior to World War One. The trigger, top/rear of hammer, and various screws have the iridescent fire blue finish. The trigger face and back strap are factory checkered. It wears the correct type checkered grips with diamonds around the escutcheons and the early style "deep dish" medallions.
Overall condition is excellent and original. The grips are in very good shape also with minor wear but no cracks, chips, or gouges. The mechanics are in perfect working order with proper timing and solid lock-up. The bore is likewise excellent with bright, sharp rifling. It comes with a 1986 dated factory letter that shows this revolver was shipped to one "Carl Enyr" on March 15, 1913. A beautiful 105-year-old Colt revolver that we have owned for a number of years.
