Here's a nice example of the classic Colt snub-nosed carry revolver. This is a near new "2nd Issue" Colt Detective Special double-action revolver. Chambered for the .38 Special, it wears a 2" barrel with non-shrouded ejector rod and has a six-shot cylinder. This is the 4th variation of the 2nd Issue and has the short grip frame with checkered walnut stocks that wrap around the bottom of the grip frame. This variation was produced between 1966-1972 and this is an early one.
This revolver is in excellent original condition and shows only very light handling wear. There is is very little actual finish loss and I'd grade the original factory blue finish about 98% overall.
The original walnut stocks are in excellent condition, free of cracks or chips, and are serial numbered to the gun.
The mechanics are in perfect working order with proper timing and solid lock-up. The bore is also excellent with bright, sharp rifling.
According to available serial number information, this Colt revolver was manufactured in 1966.
This is a "collector grade" example that would make a perfectly great carry gun too!!
