Up for your consideration is a wild west era DuPont Gunpowder Keg in excellent condition. This type of keg with this particular advertisement was in production from 1871-1893 when they began producing smokeless powder and switched to the metal kegs. These are the same type of kegs that would have been shipped to General Stores across the country through the post civil war and old west period to feed all the Winchesters and other rifles used during the period. As mentioned this keg is in very good condition retaining nearly all of its advertisement when they are usually completely missing on about 90% of these.
Fortunately all of the pertinent information is complete such as the maker, type of powder, and grain type. The only missing information is the city and state of manufacture and a piece of the dog portrait.
It also retains all of its twisted split saplings on both the top and bottom of the keg that are also usually missing or extremely loose on most but on this example they remain complete and solid with no movement. This would be the perfect item for any Winchester or old west collector to display with their firearms or other Wild West collectibles.
Shipping will be a fixed £25 given the size.
