Up for sale is a wonderful, antique Colt New Line 41 single action revolver chambered in 41 Centerfire. Round barrel measures 2 1/4" in length with a bright, strong mostly very good bore with some streaks of light frosting and faint pinprick pitting near the muzzle. Revolver retains about 80% original blued and case colored finish with some areas of flaking, scattered handling marks, high edge wear, freckling and some brown toning. Exposed areas that have flaked have toned mostly a soft brown-gray patina. Smooth wood grips show scratches and dings with some points of flaking but remain in very good condition. Revolver is sighted with a small half round German silver front blade. Etched marking on the left side of the barrel remains clear, as does the serial and patent on the underside of the barrel and address marking on the top. Lower left side of the frame below the cylinder is clearly marked "41 Cal" followed by a "C" for centerfire and the frame serial is under the left grip. Back of the cylinder is stamped with the last two digits of the serial and the end of each cylinder flute shows a tiny proof mark.
Timing and lockup appears solid.
Serial number is very high and near the end of production and built in 1879. Revolver remains in outstanding condition given its age and should find a good home in ones collection.
