The condition of this double is Good-VG: (1) Metal finishes were refinished at some point and have aged again. (2) The wood to metal fit on all surfaces except the butt plate are excellent. (3) The butt plate fit is proud to the walnut assuming the wood has shrunk over time. It does not appear to have been sanded.
The bores are both VG+ to excellent and very well kept. They are not pitted or frosted. There are no dings or dents. They are very bright, shiny and impressive for an early black powder double.
This is a nice even patina double gun from the percussion era of shotguns.
