This is a Vintage Remington Double Derringer, a.k.a “Model 95 Double Derringer,” a.k.a “Over-Under Derringer”. A double-barrel .41 caliber pocket pistol with 3" round barrels that pivot upward for loading. The barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS - - U.M.C. CO. ILION, N.Y.” There is a lock bar to release the barrels on the right side of the frame. The firing pin raises and lowers automatically to fire each respective barrel. It has a spur trigger and birds head grip. The finish is worn blue with checkered hard rubber grips. About 150,000 were manufactured between 1866 and 1935.The Double Derringer is a design of William H. Elliot and is probably the best known of all American derringer type pistols. The fact that it remained on the market for 69 years is evidence of its exceptional merit, practicality and popularity. It's in overall good condition for a firearm of this era with normal signs of use, wear and patina. Please see specifications below and all pictures for accurate depiction.
