Very good condition original antique US Model 1816 musket in .69 caliber that was manufactured by Harpers Ferry in 1837, as marked on the lock. Originally manufactured as a flintlock and later arsenal converted to percussion. This interesting gun was later sold by the Hudson Bay Company and has the “fox” marking on the left side buttstock. Metal finish is original “in the white” with some gray and brown patina. Smooth bore is good with a little pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks. Left side of stock has inspector cartouches in the flat opposite the lock. Left side buttstock has a carved “D”. Complete with a replaced ramrod. An interesting Hudson Bay Company marked M1816 musket that will make a fine addition to a collection.
