ULTRA RARE Pecare & Smith 10-Shot 28 Cal Percussion Pepperbox Revolver

Here we have one of the most sought after American-made weapons of all times, the Ultra-Rare Pecare & Smith 10 Shot, 28 Cal Percussion Cal Pepperbox Revolver, SN# 3XX ! This weapon was high tech back in the late 1840's and early 1850's, it's innovative design was noted for its clever barrel cluster shield, which was advertised as making the owner “Robber Proof”, because if someone was confronted by a robber or thug, and they attempted to grab the victims pepperbox, the barrels would still be able to be rotated by the pull of the trigger, allowing shots to be fired! Every other pepperbox would be disabled if someone grabbed the barrel cluster, but not these! Plus, 10 shots was unheard of in those very very early days of American Firearms. This one has a browny patina finish, a completely functioning action, with decent bores. Grips are walnut, I presume, and are very very decent for being 175 yrs old. The folding trigger deploys as it should, and has perfect tension when pulled. The factory engraving and markings are still very visible. Overall a rare opportunity to own one of the rarest American Firearms ever produced!
