This firearm is an extremely rare M91 (1891) Carcano that was manufactured by Brescia in 1895. This is very likely one of the rarest Carcanos in the world due to its very unique history!
This firearm was manufactured in 1895 by Brescia, which was the rarest manufacturer of the Carcano. They only made these weapons from 1895 to 1897 and only 50,000 were produced during this time. For reference, approximately 3,000,000 Carcano rifles were made by the end of WWI, meaning Brescia rifles accounted for a mere 1.67% of WWI-era Carcanos.
Additionally, this firearm bears the Austro-Hungarian "AZF" capture marking, which is the rarest capture mark one can find on a these rifles. It is very unlikely that more than a handful of these rifles exist with the same markings.
The overall condition of this rifle is great for its age, but still shows the wear and use that one would expect from a WWI-era rifle. There is still strong rifling present in the bore.
