Civil War Starr Model 1858 Double Action .44 Caliber Percussion Army Revolver. About 23,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in the late 1850s and early 1860s, most of them for the U.S. Government. 6” barrel – non-fluted 6-shot cylinder – US Army inspector markings on both sides of the 1-piece walnut grips.
All Original & All Serial numbers match; upper & lower frame, hammer, barrel, barrel lug, cylinder & grips.
The grips are in Outstanding Condition; no cracks or repairs – very few handling marks & the cartouches are still in place.
Only traces of finish remaining on the metal with a nice even Patina - no rust, dings or dents just minor handling marks & a little pin-head pitting only found upon up-close inspection.
165ish years old Civil War Starr Revolver that looks good - still functions - All Original – unmolested in any way - there cannot be too many left this nice.
