These Starr carbines were issued to many of the Western units during the Civil War.Some of the units were ,1st. Ark. 5th. Kansas, 11th. & 16th Missouri. From my research I feel this one was issued to the 16th. Missouri in September of 1864.The first model has a brass butt plate and front band. This one has the Saddle ring intact, as well as the original sights.The stock shows some wear from the use of a Calvary sling. The Bore is Near Mint!!.
