This Springfield Trapdoor Functions Perfectly and it is all correct with Original and Correct Inspection marks. The only issue that we see with this antique is that someone lighly etched their social security number on the left side of the barrel. It has a Walnut stock that bears an inspector Cartouch dated 1885 and the fireing pressure tested proof mark (circle with P). It has an excellent Bore that is Bright and shinny. In case you are not familiar with Springfield Trapdoor. Trapdoor was the first standard-issue breech-loading rifle adopted by the United States Army. It is the rifle that Won The West.
It went through Indian Wars, Spanish–American War and the Philippine–American War.
