For sale today we have a Springfield Model of 1826 percussion rifle that was made from the Model 1816 that has been bored out to a shotgun with a diameter of about .71 caliber through a 40 inch barrel that is US property marked.
The finish of this antique muzzleloader has majority of the original bluing present throughout the barrel and lock assembly although there are some signs of wear present throughout the stock. The bore has low shine with pitting present throughout.
The trigger has a smooth break with some overtravel present. The wood of the stock has shrunk and the buttplate extends past the stock. The length of pull of the stock is about 13.25 inches. There is no serial number present on this antique rifle.
