This is an historically important Smith and Wesson, the first model of the .44 Double Action revolver, and the last of the big top breaks.
This is a “must” for the Smith and Wesson or American Frontier collector. This example is in about Very Good condition with much of its nickel finish remaining, a decent bore and strong mechanics.
The action functions correctly, both single and double action. The double action trigger is smooth, the single action is crisp.
The bore is semi-bright and the rifling is shallow but present. There is very light erosion throughout the bore with light-moderate erosion at the rear of the bore.
