Here's a rare opportunity for the die-hard Smith & Wesson collectors! This is an extremely early Smith & Wesson revolver that is seldom seen for sale.
This is a "Model One, First Issue, Second Type" and this example, serial number 917, is among the first 1000 revolvers Smith & Wesson ever made!
Like all Smith & Wesson Model Ones, this is a single action revolver chambered for the .22 Short rimfire.
Overall condition is very good and the serial number is properly matching on the frame, barrel, cylinder and both stocks.
The bore is fairly typical for a black powder revolver of this period and while the 3-groove rifling is visible and partially bright, there are a couple of pits as well...I'd rate the bore as about "fair".
Buyer pays £15.00 shipping & insurance. This is an antique handgun made prior to 1899 and as such no licence is required for transfer.
