Up for sale is a scarce Colt US Cavalry Model Single Action Army single action revolver chambered in 45 Colt and inspected by David F. Clark. Barrel measures 7 ½" in length with a marginally bright, heavily frosted bore with worn scattered light pitting and worn rifling. Metal surfaces are varying shades of brown and gray patina with scattered handling marks, scattered pinprick pitting and spots of older staining. Wood grips are worn, with a missing slivers at the top on either side of the rear grip strap along with older softened dings, and a softened chip near the rear of the left panel and the left panel shows a faint inspectors cartouche that cant quite be made out. Revolver is sighted with a blade front sight and notch rear. Serial numbers on the butt, triggerguard, frame and cylinder are matching. Frame and barrel show “DFC” inspectors initials with “G” and “P” marks on some of the other parts and “US” is still clearly marked on the left side of the frame. Timing and lockup appears solid. Included with the revolver is a modern, hinged wood Colt presentation case with red cloth lining. Case remains in very good condition with few small marks and features a Colt medallion in the lid while the interior has a cartridge block and is partially fitted. Case also included a key and a plain white cardboard outer shipper. Built in 1883 according to the serial number. Should make an excellent addition to ones collection. ANTIQUE, no licence needed.
