Only 230 of the 1878 Borchardt Long Range rifles were made. This gun retains 50% original case colors on the receiver. About 85% barrel blue, having thinned a bit, with some light old surface rust speckling. All markings are clear. All matching numbers. Fine bore with sharp rifling. The original tang sight is present.
The base for the front sight is present. Has the original base for the sight on the top of the buttstock. 34 inch barrel. Original hard rubber panels on either side of the receiver. The butt has some varnish wear on the right side, and an old glued break on the right at the wrist (pictured) which could be better addressed.
Forend is fine. Checkering is sharp.
All in all, a very hard gun to find in very presentable condition. Serial number is 7133
