RARE Winchester Model 1886 Rifle

Do not miss out on this very sharp, special order big bore Winchester Model 1886. Chambered in the desirable .40-65 WCF. Extra length 28" round barrel (2 inches longer than standard), full magazine. Special ordered Winchester “Rocky Mountain” blade front sight. Letters with the Cody Firearms museum and will come with an official factory letter confirming the configuration. Special sights on Winchester lever guns rarely letter, and a Rocky Mountain front sight is one of the rarest. This wonderful original sight is still intact on this rifle! This model 1886 is very sharp and has been well cared for. The receiver has a nice balance of mottled original case coloring and a smooth silver worn case handed surface. Lever and hammer also have case coloring in protected areas. The barrel and magazine tube retain a lot of their original bluing having turned a nice plum color.
The bore is very good, strong rifling with a few light scattered pits - I rate it 8/10. Wood is very good with nice fit and no repairs - only a few dings and scratches from use. Also has an old added coat of varnish present on the stocks.
Action locks up tight and is very crisp. Ships fully insured and will be packaged very well.
