Don’t miss out on the finest .22 WRF solid frame model 1890 that I have encountered in many years of collecting the model 1890! A scarce high condition early production Winchester model 1890. Desirable early non take-down frame, known as first model "solid frame" rifle. Only the first 15,500 model 1890's were made as solid frames. And of which only 1,780 where chambered in .22 WRF. They are nearly impossible to find with any original finish. This rifle was made in 1891, and is chambered in .22 WRF, 24" octagon barrel. Letters with the Cody Firearms Museum and will include an official factory letter confirming the configuration. These are extremely hard to find in this condition. The receiver has a good amount of original case colors left with traces of more vibrant color in sheltered areas. The breech block has a lot of it's beautiful factory bluing. The barrel and magazine tube retain much of their original finish. Turned to a plum/blue/ There is normal wear and also a few deeper dings and tool marks as shown. The mag tube also has a few of these near the end. Wood is very good with no refinishing, all original varnish. The butt plate has some nice muted original case color remaining. Very nice lightly frosted bore, I rate the bore 7/10. Way above average for an early .22! The action locks up tight and is very crisp.
Ships fully insured and will be packaged very well.
