RARE, ANTIQUE Winchester Model 1897 Shotgun

The finest early antique Winchester Model 1897 takedown shotgun I have ever encountered. Very few model 1897s exist that are real pre 1899 antiques. And when you find them they are rough. Serial number 59288. Made in 1898; the second year of production. 12 ga, 30 inch barrel with a full choke. This gun is in very nice condition with a lot of nice original bluing that has began to turn to a plummy patina in spots. Misc light wear and a few old spots of corrosion. Bore is bright and shinly, very rare for a black powder era shotgun. The action is very tight. Nice solid stocks with one hairline crack in the forend. The butt plate has a LOP of 13" and an original early smooth steel butt plate, if it was cut down after the fact, it was done nicely. Ships fully insured and will be packaged very well.
