The bayonet folds up tip goes underneath the trigger guard, pulling the trigger guard back releases it and it springs into action, if you miss with your first shot you can poke them in the eye really cool 1840s Highwaymen style boot gun. Metal is engraved nice patina no Maker's Marks to be seen definitely a piece for anybody's collection.
