An excellent example, in fine condition, is this ANTIQUE MARLIN MODEL 1881 lever action rifle chambered in 40/82 with . The 13xxx serial number will date it to the mid 1880's. This appears to be a special order rifle with original double set triggers that work perfectly.
The metal has a nice, smooth, even patina with traces of blue. The action works fine, as do the double set triggers.
The bore is slightly dark but still has deep, sharp rifling. The wood is excellent .
