What we have here is arguably the first successful American big game repeating rifle made by the Winchester. This example was made in 1882 and appears to be in very good original condition for its age. The octagon barrel measures about 28" and the bore is in good antique condition - some shine along with the typical frost, frost as well as light to moderate pitting throughout (nothing too serious) and decent rifling throughout. The action functions well and locks up tight.
The metal has a nice patina with clear markings. The wood is in nice condition as well with no major damage
