This Pennsylvania Plains style Long Rifle features: (1) Joseph Golcher cap lock with light scroll engraving. (2) Barrel is a 36” long, half round / half octagon style. Barrel is rifled with .45 inside bore. There are no markings on the barrel. The muzzle barrel outside diameter is 1.23”. The barrel has its original sights and is in the white. (3) Pennsylvania style half stock with typical deep crescent brass wrapped butt plate. (4) Two sided raised cheek rests with German silver plaques. (5) Brass trigger guard, bottom plate and stock ramrod pipe fitting. (6) Stock is fitted with multiple German silver inlets. (7) Half stock has pewter front cap. (8) Ramrod included and the other two ramrod pipes are steel. (9) Gun weighs in at 13 lbs. 10 oz.
The condition of this rifle is Good-VG: (1) The stock has good original color and smoothness. There is one crack by the left side lock screw (see pen pointer pictures). (2) The stock is fairly thin under that massive barrel but still holding up. The lock fit is crude. The stock to barrel fit is decent. (3) The Joseph Golcher lock functions fine. (4) The inside barrel bore looks pretty clean and smooth the entire length except the last two inches show some pitting and surface rust. (5) Brass all has medium patina.
