Here's a rather nice condition Japanese Type 10 Signal Pistol. These were manufactured from 1921 through the end of World War Two in 1945 and were the primary flare gun of the Imperial Japanese Army. It is a single barrel, double action only design. It features automatic extraction and shares many characteristics with the old Type 26 service revolver. It is large bore pistol and is chambered for 35mm flares. Although in production for 24 years, only about 8300 were made. This example was manufactured at the Kokura Army Arsenal in the early 1940's. Condition is excellent with nearly all of the original blue finish remaining and just a few small/isolated spots of corrosion and some finish loss to the a couple of the action screws. The original grooved wood grips are also excellent, free of cracks, chips or gouges. The mechanics are in perfect working order and the smooth bore is excellent with just some minor staining (no deep pitting). This fine example comes with an original and rather scarce rubberized canvas holster that is in very good condition. The holster shows minor wear to the edges but is free of tears or loose stitching. A high quality reproduction of the original folding screw driver is also included. Overall a very solid example, one of the nicer Type 10's I've seen!
