This is a Hopkin & Allen “Dictator” in .32 Rim. This pistol was made prior to 1898 and is marked "Hopkins and Allen Manufacturing Co., Norwich, Conn.”, “DICTATOR” and “PAT MAY 27, 1879” on its topstrap. It features a 2¾” barrel, 5-shot cylinder, synthetic grips, and a nickel finish. This pistol is in nice condition with a good action and lock up, crisp trigger, working half cock position. This pistol has some speckling of the nickel finish, and the finish is worn away at the muzzle as shown, without flaking of the plating. The grips are complete and free of cracks or chips, with a few handing marks as shown. The barrel and chambers have some pitting with good rifling as shown. An interesting little 32 pocket pistol!
