Antique German Mauser M1871 bolt action rifle in 6.5X53.5 Daudeteau. Made 1879 in German and later surplused to Uruguay in the 1880s. Uruguay then paid the French arsenal/firm of St. Denis, using the Daudeteau system. No import marks. Matching bolt components, minus the retention screw. Imperial German proofs are still present. Rack number "2A 18" on the right side of the butt. 31-1/2" barrel with standard sights. Armory bright finish. Wood has a light oil finish. Includes attached original clearing rod (much like a French Lebel/Berthiers), as well as a period leather sling. CONDITION: Metal is good overall.
