Here is a nice English flintlock fowling gun. The barrels are 36 inches and 20 gauge (.62). The walnut(?) refinished stock is mounted with brass engraved hardware. It has one barrel wedge. The stock is checkered at the wrist only and has a short front trigger. These traits signify it as an “early” gun. Both locks were replaced with new L&R Bailes locks . The hammers and frizzens were modified but new hammers and frizzens from L&R would make these locks work like new. There is some filler under the barrel channel and around the lock mortices. This still is a very solid stock for being 200+ years old!
