Serial #2182, .45 cal percussion, 24” octagon barrel with a bright excellent bore. What a dandy little Cherokee this is, remaining in such a fine overall state of condition. The surfaces of the barrel retain 99% original blue with a few sparsely scattered fine handling marks which do not immediately catch the eye.
The case-hardened colors of the lock plate and hammer remain excellent while the brass hardware is showing some pleasing natural toning from the years which can only be improved upon. The American walnut stock with left side cheek piece rates excellent with a few light handling or rack marks which are hardly worth mentioning, the stock featuring an attractive satin finish overall. The sights consist of a Thompson Center bead front, adjustable U-notch rear. Dual set trigger equipped, the arm functions perfectly and can be used with the conventional “hunting” trigger, or can be set with the rear trigger for longer-range shots.
A great and handy little Cherokee, which was obviously well-cared-for, for the serious Thompson Center collector nad investor, or muzzleloader enthusiast that prefers a small, lightweight rifle.
