Gun retains an even patina overall. Good mechanical function. The buttplate tang has the Confederate inventory control number for running the blockade. Unfortunately, the stock appears to have been sanded and lightly refinshed at some point, with what look like little holes from tack decorations which are mostly absent. Missing the front band and ramrod.
The original rear sight is present. GG marked on the top of the barrel, meaning unknown. Has 52 stamped into the right side of the butt. Bore is bright with sharp rifling and some light pitting. Hard to find Confederate imported British Enfield musket. Buttplate number is 4965
