This antique firearm is a Colt model of 1878 Hammer Gun. Chambered for 12 gauge, this firearm was constructed with Damascus barrels and designed for use with black powder cartridges/shells. The firearm features 30” barrels with a brass bead front sight, rabbit ear style hammers, dual triggers, and the wood is in solid condition. The barrel has an ever-slight bulge near the muzzle and the bore has some pitting in it near the chamber. While the gun will close and lock, the lockup has become loose after 140+ years.
