Star over TC marking just behind the trigger guard tang. Some sources claim this is a Louisiana marking, others state this is a Tiffany & Co NY mark. Bands removed with flat US style middle band. Straight tulip head ramrod. Muzzle period cut halfway through the front sight. Barrel measures 37 ¾ inches long. Looks to have A. L. Johnson carved into the left side of the stock.
Retains an even patina overall showing heavy wear with rust and pitting. Wood is very worn. Brass has a nice dark patina to it. Lock is in good working order. Parker Field & Son were well known suppliers to the Confederacy. Shoots vry well
