£ 303.00Cannon Brass Signal - 1800s antique engraved - For Sale
Antique brass signal cannon. Approximately 70Cal. Overall lengths 9 ¾", Diameter an muzzle 1 ¾" Diameter at breech, 2". Engraved top seems to represent the Arabic number 1271 relating to about 1854 in the Christian calendar. You could also argue the markings on the cannon are 1218 in Arabic relating to 1803-1804. The cannon was purchased in Istanbul, Turkey in 1956. Regardless of the it is a remarkable piece of history and a great conversation starter.
