Up for sale, we present a rare antique C.S. Pettengill .31 Caliber Percussion Double Action Pocket Revolver, made just prior to the American Civil War, circa 1858-59, by Rogers, Spencer & Co. in Willow Vale, NY.
The design was a double action hammerless percussion mechanism initially developed by C.S. Pettengill in the 1850s. In 1856, he was granted a patent for it.
This Pistol is in overall Great condition the metal surfaces show little to no signs of pitting or wear, the action still operates as does the double action trigger, the grips have some minor areas of wear but are intact and structurally sound, all together this is an amazing example of early civil war era small arms.
