This fowler has a lock plate marked JA Golcher (I believe James Golcher) manufactured around the 1830's. He was mostly known for his locks and this example has what appears to have about 69 caliber or 12 gauge Fowler barrel that measures about 38". The overall length of this specimen is about 54". This nice Philadelphia made firearm has some very nice inlays along with a patch box. The wood is full stock and appears to be something like cherry, though I am not certain. There is a crack about mid length on the left side of the handguard that seems to be holding together fine. The lock appears to work well.
