Antique English cane gun or poachers gun by noted London maker Cogswell and Harrison. It has a quick detachable shoulder stock which converts this cane into a useable .410 cylinder bore shotgun for birds or poaching. The walnut stock and grip are in nice shape with only some small handling marks and no real wear and no damage. Assembled it has a 14 1/2" LOP so it works with an adult user. The trigger safety works well and the action is snug, but easy to unlock and load. The 25 1/2" bore is clean and bright.
The action and barrel are finished in gloss Brown paint. There are a few chips where the paint is missing as you can see in the photos. The cane is 32 1/2" with a assembled overall length of 46" and a weight of 2 lbs 12 oz. The action is marked "Cogswell & Harrison 226 Strand, also 142 New Bond Street, London" along with a Proof Mark.
This would make a superb addition to a collection for the advanced collector and makes for a interesting conversation piece.
