This is an antique tiger maple percussion cap black powder American long rifle (musket) in good condition. Beautiful appearance and color of the wood stock's striped tiger maple pattern clearly remains. Actual manufacture date unknown but very likely in the early 1820s, therefore this gun is approximately 200 years old.
Actual gun caliber is unknown but believed to be .52 or .54. Barrel and action are in good condition. Barrel is straight, no cracks, no material scratches. Action has a firm, fast snap with the hammer falling all the way down on the cap when trigger is pulled. Some light engraving remains on the lock plate. Have not been able to find a makers mark or serial number on the gun.
The tiger maple wood furniture is in excellent condition, no material scratches, dings, or cracks. Overall length: 47.5", barrel length: 31.5".
