Up for sale is an antique Marlin Model 1895 lever action rifle chambered in 40-65 WCF. Barrel measures 24 1/8" in length with a moderately bright, frosted bore with scattered light to moderate pitting. Receiver and buttplate have toned a somewhat bright blue-gray patina with a few ghosted remnants of case color, scattered scratches, staining and some pinprick pitting.
Magazine tube and barrel have toned to a dull yellow-brown patina from faded cold blue over a few tool marks and a couple patches of pinprick to light pitting. Smooth wood forearm and straight grip crescent buttstock have been sanded and show an added gloss finish with some older scattered marks and some chipping around the action. Rifle is sighted with a modified bead on blade front sight and the ears of the rear sporting leaf have been filed flat across the top. Underside of the barrel does show a filled dovetail slot . Buitl in 1897 according to the serial. Antique.
