For your consideration is an antique 32 cal percussion rifle with a Josh Golcher lock. It has a pleasant untouched patina throughout. The lock was recently refurbished by old school gunsmith/locksmith and works well with full and half cock.
Nice working patch box, and pewter nose cap. Beautiful tiger maple stock is mostly blacked out from many years of use. The stock and the entire rifle were left as-is for originality sake (real petina). Only the bore has been cleaned. Overall the stock is solid with typical erosion by nipple, a long-ago repair to wrist area, and some wear around lock area. The gun was test fired and hits point of aim at 50 yds with .311 ball, .010" patch, and 50 gr. Length overall is 49 inches, length of pull is 13 inches, barrel is 32.5 inches long and 1 inch in diameter. Bore measures .323, and is fairly decent, with some pitting and most of it's rifling still present. Nice ram rod with screw on tip may be original. Bore was flushed, and wiped with bear oil. Thanks for looking.
