ANTIQUE GERMAN KAR 88 COMMISSION CARBINE-ERFURT 1895-UHLAN UNIT MARK

Very good condition antique German Kar 88 Commission Carbine in 8mm Mauser caliber that was manufactured by Erfurt Arsenal in 1895, as marked on the receiver ring. Carbine is NOT import marked and has nonmatching numbers. Receiver and bolt are original “in the white”. Remaining metal finish is original blue showing some wear. Bore is bright with worn rifling and some pitting. Stock has original finish and shows some normal handling marks.
. Right side buttstock and undersides of wrist and forend have Imperial German proof mark cartouches. Unit marked “2.R.U.1.15.” on the right side of the barrel band for the 2nd Reserve Uhlan Regiment, Squadron 1, Weapon 15. A nice, scarce Kar 88 Commission Carbine.
