Up for sale is an extremely rare and provenanced cased 1871 manufactured James Lang SxS 12GA shotgun with an original and correct Joseph Lang case and cleaning accessories. This particular gun per the Lang records was No 2 of a matching pair made for Lord Augustus Frederick Arthur Sandys.
It uses a Purdey snap action with 30” barrels. Furthermore to the Lang records, completion date was 30th October 1871 and there was an additional note to say that it was auctioned at Christies back in November 1991. All of this information can be confirmed via an email to the records dept of Lang if you wish to question my provenance claim. The gun is hand-engraved, hand-checkered, and has fantastic shiny bores. The gun locks up tight and functions perfectly, I even shot 2 rounds of trap with proper black powder shells before deep cleaning and returning it to the safe to ensure function. It has a very old repair on the metal on the bottom tang and is more than safe to shoot.
The case is a Joseph Lang case correct for this piece, and comes with the original cleaning rod and attachments.
