A good looking early antique black powder 1st gen Colt Single Action Army. Chambered in the desired .44-40 Winchester cartridge, a “Frontier six shooter”. 7-½" barrel. Made in 1883. Letter is included confirming the configuration and showing it was shipped to E.C. Meacham Arms Company in St Louis. The entire pistol is void of finish and is in a cleaned, mottled, silver state. Has old wear, dings, but a very crisp action with minimal play and good indexing. All main serial numbers match on the frame, guard, back strap, barrel and cylinder. The frame and loading gate have matching assembly numbers as well. Original colt (no visible numbered) one piece walnut grips are worn with old light checkering showing thru the finish.
Very nice bore for an early black powder gun - I rate it 8/10.
Ships fully insured and will be packaged very well.
